| We are testing a new program that will notify taxpayers when their tax bill is available to be paid on-line. | |
| An e-mail notification was sent October 22, 2008 advising a random group of taxpayers who had previously paid on-line that their tax information was available on the internet. A second e-mail was sent on October 30th to additional taxpayers. This program will be continually enhanced to make receiving and paying a tax bill even more convenient. | |
| Florida law currently requires the Tax Collector to send a paper tax bill by first class mail, but that law is under review and may eventually allow taxpayers to choose whether they want their bill by mail or e-mail. E-mail would be more convenient and will help reduce the high costs of printing and mailing paper bills. | |
| Utilizing today's technology is one of the many ways the Tax Collector is working to provide the services our customers need while keeping costs as low as possible. | |
