Information |
| There are many convenient ways
to pay your taxes - by electronic check, either through our web site, or
your online banking system, by credit card, online or over a touch tone
phone, by mail or in person. Click on any link below to learn more. |

 | All electronic
payments
must be made by midnight (ET) on the last day of the month to be eligible
for that month's discount. This includes payments made online or over the
phone by credit card or online by electronic check. |

 | Payments by electronic/online banking must be processed early enough
to allow the funds to transfer to our account by the end of the month for
that month's discount.
Payments initiated through your account typically do not "settle" into our
account for 2-5 days. For example, settlement into our account must occur by
November 30th to receive the 4% discount. |

|
 | Payments by mail must be postmarked by
the last day of the month to receive that month's discount. |

DISCOUNT PERIOD ENDS ON A HOLIDAY OR WEEKEND?
If a discount period ends on a holiday or
weekend, the discount will be accepted ONLY for payments made in
person on the next business day. This includes payments made at any of
our office locations or drop boxes. All electronic payments must be
made by the last day of the month. This includes online payments,
ebank/electronic bill payments or payments wired to our bank account.
Payments mailed must be postmarked by the last day of the month. |

E-CHECK (electronic check) -
no convenience fee added:
Your payment can be
electronically transferred from your checking account. You will need one of your checks
for the bank routing number and your bank account number in order to
complete the transaction. Only accounts at U.S. banks can be used.
In addition, checks from home equity accounts or credit card checks cannot
be used. Businesses that have ACH transactions blocked on their
accounts must authorize their bank to allow this transaction. |

ELECTRONIC / ONLINE BANKING:
If you use online
banking , you can pay your tax bill as you do other bills. Please
include the property account number (from the upper left corner of your bill
or this
website). The payee name should
appear on your bank’s listing as “Sarasota Tax Collect Ford-Coates”.
Payments by electronic/online banking must be processed early enough

CREDIT
CARD (2.45% Convenience Fee added):
Your payment can be made with
Discover, Master Card,
Visa or American Express if you pay by
internet or by phone. You can also use a credit card to pay in person,
except for Visa. Due to Visa regulations we are not able to accept
Visa at any of our service centers. Please note that the payment processing
company charges a 2.45% fee. The Tax Collector does not receive any
part of that fee. |

Sarasota, FL 34236-6940 Payment
must be in U.S. Funds and made payable to Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates.
Please do not postdate your checks - all checks will be processed as soon as
they are received. In accordance with recent banking
regulations, eligible checks will be converted to an electronic transaction.
If you do not want your payment converted, you must include a written
request with your tax payment. |

IN THE OFFICE:
You can pay at any one
of our Service
Centers.
You can pay by cash, check, debit card ($1.50 fee is added by our processor),
MasterCard, American Express or Discover card (2.45% fee is added by our
payment processor).
PLEASE NOTE due to Visa regulations, we cannot accept Visa in the office.
At our limited service locations in North Port we cannot accept all types of
payments. Please check each
service center location for payment options. |

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIRING
FUNDS:
You can wire funds directly from
your bank account to our bank account. Typically the funds will be
transferred the same day, however, please confirm your banks policies and
procedures regarding wire transfers. All wire transfer fees are the
responsibility of the sender.
