To register a new vessel, never before titled, you must
bring the following to any Tax Collector's office: |
 | A manufacturer's Statement of Origin properly completed
and signed, (notarization may be required) by the selling dealer/store. |
|
 | A copy of the executed bill of sale or dealer's invoice
listing the vessel purchase price, sales tax paid and any trade-in allowance. Additional
taxes equivalent to Florida's sales tax and local sales tax may be due.
|
|
 | If recording a lien, the lienholders name, address and
the date of lien are required. |
|
 | Each applicant, or their appointed power of attorney
(documents required) must sign a new application for title. If you are the appointed power
of attorney, the original or a copy of the original signed appointment must be presented
at time of application. |
|
 | The applicant's date of birth and Florida driver
license number are recorded as part of the application. If registered in a company name,
the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) must be recorded.
|
|
 | Basic title fees of $5.75 are charged and if a lien is
to be recorded, add an additional fee of $1.00. This is in addition to registration fees
due upon application. |
|
| |
 | A paper title can be printed immediately in the Tax Collector's
office. This is called a "Fast Title." There is an additional
$5.00 fee for a fast title. |
|
| |
 | If a paper title is printed and mailed, an additional $2.50 fee is
required. (This does not apply to fast titles.) |
